Second Step: Social Skills Curriculum

Way back in the day, when I worked in a separate day school for students with behavioral disorder, we had this wonderful Second Step Social Skills Curriculum.

We have been discussing our school culture of late, given that we are all from wildly different backgrounds, how can we teach our students what the behavioral expectations and skills they need to thrive in our environment.

Our school is piloting the Second Step curriculum in year 5- we’ve purchased the grade level kit, the bullying prevention module as well as the principal’s kit. We’re collecting some SEL data a second time, completing the training and planning the lessons. I hope it demonstrates a positive impact on our school community!
