Interdepartmental Collaboration: Good Things

November 18, 2019 by Carly Jondron

I ran into our stablemaster and riding instructor at a lunch last weekend and she expressed frustration over trying to get young kids on horse back to follow verbal directions. “I don’t know anything about teaching riding, but I’ll come check it out, and maybe we can come up with something that will help.” So Monday after school I drove out to the Nile Farm where our school keeps the ponies. I watched the lessons and chatted to the moms. I observed the directions and watched the kid’s behavior.
